Peripheral Nervous System:
Anatomical Basis for US and MRI
Use in Clinical Practice
May 5-9, 2025

School description

We aim at providing an innovative summer school focused on deepening the knowledge of peripheral nervous system (PNS) anatomy and how to exploit this knowledge to implement in clinical practice diagnostic techniques such as ultrasound (US) and neuroimaging. We will involve high profile national/international speakers with a highly recognized scientific profile.  Moreover, we will build our initiative on an innovative teaching approach. During the morning sessions, frontal lessons will be given providing an overview of the theoretical information needed to fully participate in the subsequent practical activities. In the afternoon, in fact, participants will be divided into groups of no more than 10 people for hands-on activities to consolidate what presented in the morning exploiting Anatomage Table (3D Anatomy & Virtual Dissection Platform | Anatomage Table) and its latest ultrasound (US) tool, as well as US actual machines. The Table will provide an interactive 3D Atlas that participants will pair with the use of an actual US machine during the session: day 2 will be devoted to upper limb and day 3 to lower limb. On day 4 a similar approach will be used to exploit neuroimaging data. On Day 5 small group activities will be carried out to solve some clinical cases and a small tournament will be held at the end of the initiative implementing a gamification approach in the teaching methodology.
